Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Or the other way around? Lock this Plasto piece in the display cabinet? It would be a lot less noisy. ;)

The Plasto piece has a pretty large footprint compared to most of the things I collect/display. I'd have to put a bunch of cameos or fetishes in it to have a space. On the other hand, the cats, no doubt, would make their own space. The bottom of the cabinet is full of seashells. After seeing the photo in the Funnies thread of the cat sitting on the eggs, I know they really will make a place for themselves anywhere.

I really need to catch up with more of the off topic/ entertainment threads. Not sure that I ever will. I do read Rants and Raves regularly but that might be the only one. Otherwise it's just occasional...

The Plasto motif of a nude lady rising from the waves looks inspired by Pierre Duipuis's La Vague, here in a KPM porcelain plaque:

Giovanni Noto used her for one of his most popular cameos:

I don't often anymore see cameos I would like to add to my collection. And I almost never buy solidly 20th century work. Today, happened to see, in time to bid on & win, one that may come live in this jar, where she would fit right in, don't you think?

She is Bezalel School & I think there is something in Hebrew on the back. Probably just 'Bezalel'. Also possible she is meant to be a Biblical figure & that it's her name on the back. It is quite typical of Bezalel cameos to have the name of the subject on them.

She's not a Finds thread-worthy find, not too shabby either. This lot was passed, so opening bid or reserve must have been too high. However, I paid a fraction for my new treasure, so I'm OK.

There is other Bezalel work in the lots around Lot 440.

Sometimes you just do. She may already be about 70 years old or so. She'll be an antique in no time.:kiss:
