Probably leaning towards the gypsum variety of alabaster. Anyhow - with the base this is 21" high. The sculpture itself is about 16.5" high, 18.5" from corner to corner(diagonally). The base is a black stone - I think soapstone. Not signed or marked that i've been able to find. The base has no markings on the bottom, you can just see the nut and bolt holding the statue to the base. The nut and bolt don't look that old (not more than 50 years I'd say). I haven't weighed it yet but I'd guess it's north of 40 pounds. Any guesses where from? What does it represent? Human figure? Elephant? Bird? Pretzel?(i'm just hungry). Thanks for any input!
