    Samson’s Grip no. 110 wishbone....... is a milling hold-down-- Just ye olde generic milling clamp. Put the fork end on the block and put the little nub on the work. Put the stud and nut close up to the work and as far from the blocking as possible. These things hold like nobody's business.

    Machinist who praised these things has lots of experience. I think their holding ability has a lot to do with pressure in terms of psi. The cylindrical form of the end of the grip concentrates any force that is applied to the whole grip, and if the grip is positioned so it slants downward toward say a flat workpiece, only a small part of a circle presses on the work, increasing the pressure maybe to the point of elastically deforming the workpiece so it is nearly impossible for it to move horizontally-just what the machinist wants. Maximize force, minimize area = lots of psi.

    Hey!!! I'll agree with that....if you say so, since it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.....minimal....yes....but not a lot!!!! Just being honest!!!:happy:
