Love all the mugs. I had no idea novelty mugs went that far back.
I usually ignore the mug shelf in thrift stores. Not any more.

That actually was written yesterday in regards to the sweet homes........I saw the "grayed" words a moment ago and wondered, had I failed to "click" reply at the time I wrote them? Well obviously I did fail.

Two mistakes right after one another.....no post and calling James John!!

Acquitaine............I think I remember you referencing McInnis's auctions before, and I just assumed you probably lived closer to his auction house.

You must have attended Brimfield many many times over the years. That's where the stroller came from. I think it was a dealer from the South who offered it.

I suppose any one of us who have attended Brimfield through the years have probably touched elbows..... so to speak.:cat:

James, if my brother wasn't coming from Yuma, AZ, I might have been attending the upcoming auction, and witnessing the sale of the beloved box myself.

I must go to the website and look for the mugs......the only ones I know that sell today are some of the Starbucks mugs......!!

Janice collected quite a few mugs.......and probably nary from Starbucks!

I always look at the mugs at the thrifts......never bought an antique one there, but I must confess to buying Starbucks for resale.

I look them up before I buy tho. Not all are desired!!

Just an association, comes from watching Citizen Kane too often.;)
Rosebud was the name Kane whispered on his deathbed. During the entire movie a journalist tries to find out what Rosebud means. At the end he finds the child's sled with the name Rosebud. A greedy and power-hungry man's one true happiness.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

This reminds me that I wrote a paper about Citizen Kane in a film history class as an undergraduate student. I loved that class! And the film is great, too.
