I beg to differ. The box you posted has the classic vine and blossom motif of Hoshiarpur, while Darren's box has flowers with leaves in 'pending' shapes.
The Hoshiarpur carving is around the cartouche, leaving the cartouche open for a name, for instance. The carving on Darren's box is inside the cartouches/pendings.

This is a pending, a Malay buckle, with the usual floral motifs:

Pending shapes as decoration on other Malay items, it is a much used design element in Indonesia and Malaysia:

Pending shapes on a Dutch colonial box (apologies for the glare):

Yes, bamboo is common in Punjab, the region where Hoshiarpur is. However, it is rarely used as a design element in India, and I have yet to see it on Hoshiarpur boxes and furniture.
But it is a very common design element further east. In fact, the further east you go, the more you see bamboo as a design element.

I haven't seen a box with both floral carved 'pending' cartouches and bamboo, but both design elements do occur in the same region.
Below is my Madurese (Indonesian) Dutch Colonial box with carved bamboo on the corners:

From the bottom, this looks different and a bit older than the ones I have seen through the years. I can't recall ever seeing scribe lines around the edge and the nails. Nice box.
