I've Got 3 Vintage Kimono, Poorly Stored, That Need TLC

I'm all eyes and ears! Can hardly wait to see these goodies when you are ready to share!

 

I regret that I haven't moved much on that box of silk (or cotton).
I did remove a sub-carton containing the child's 2-piece garment & hat. I'll get pics one day soon, when the sun is out an' no rain is forecast...they'll be the next thing I'll post, right here. Thanks for your interest!

First is a jacket with kimono-like sleeves an' closure; what would be an obi is 2-part, stitched to the garment. Next a paper tag that was wrapped with the jacket & skirt. Then the skirt, which is 1 fold longer than #3 pic shows; then 2 of the upper portion, with shoulder straps. Then the cap. which may be a Tam, by what I can see...and finally a tag that was in the box with it.
This would fit a 3 to 4 year old girl, I think. Better pics when I can, but this will do for now.

I think these garments are Korean.
Except for the hat, that may be from Japan.

I'm a little bit confused as to why Korean garments would have Japanese tags

 

At one point, Japan invaded Korea and took it over. This set may not date to that era, but it's possible that even later some things were made in Japan and exported. Or made in Korea and marked with the invader's script.

 

The first tag translation relates it to a pair of Tabi's...that are in the box with the Kimono an' this kid's outfit. Pics tomorrow...Great work, Mikey!

Those characters (if they are characters) on the garment are definitely Korean, the stripes on the sleeves make me (or rather my sister whom I asked) think this is festival attire rather than every day hanbok. Interesting its got Japanese tags, though it could be due to the invasion or the aftermath like Eve said.
