I have to say I’d have bought it too. I mean if it was cheap. Not if it was over $20-$30 or so but seems I would have been wrong not to pay more.

Same, because it makes me laugh to look at it and what more can you ask of a piece of art you look at every day, than to bring you joy?

@DragonflyWink that was an amazing catch. Thanks for solving it!

So, apparently I'm a bit cranky this morning, and should be used to sometimes not having my answers personally acknowledged by OPs, (of course the sharing of knowledge is useful for all), but I ignored the insults to this piece, felt it was a Sunderland pink luster glaze, had very vague memory in my strained-of-late brain that I'd seen it before, dug into my references, going through several before finding the information, posted it for the OP - and yet, no personal 'thanks', just a 'Like', and then a general thanks to all. It may sound bitchy, but if someone, not just me, but anyone who takes the trouble to do research, post answers and/or the results of the research, they deserve that personal 'thank you' from the person asking, a 'Like' seems inadequate, they're just so often passed out indiscriminately, though it's better than no response at all (even worse if you find your exact unacknowledged response copied and pasted into a sales description).

Should say that I'm bothered by this not just here, but other forums and groups as well, and yes, I'm done ranting...

    Yes & no !
You didn't get 23,000 likes...fer nothing.......and not everyone posts a personal thanks all the time.

I can't count the number of times....... I'm bang on with the right answer without a personal thank you....;)

Sometimes I research for hours....... other times ... I know the answer without having to lift a finger. The members at large do not how much time and effort I've spent on any one item..... other than when I post pics and a long and winding answer to the query !!
I have at least one thread on the site , saying how I never joined up just to get likes...but to be part of a community.
That said....... when I put expertise and time out there..... it is always welcomed when the OP , takes a moment to acknowledge .... in a post.....the help they've received !!!

So @DragonflyWink ...your rant does not go unnoticed..... or understood...... and if I may say so..... your commitment and value to this site.... lifts us all up !!!

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheryl, I always pay attention to your posts because I KNOW that you have done research and are bang on the money with your answers. I think I've "liked" everyone one of your answers!

Kind of annoying, isn't it? As said, was a bit cranky and it just hit me wrong - but just because it happens so often to so many of us doesn't make it right. We have such a loss of common courtesy anymore that even use of the simple 'please' and 'thank you' is fading away...

Thank you, Komo - and the same back at you!

Awww, Wendy - so kind! Missed you when you weren't around for a while. I do appreciate the 'Likes', but when an OP just does it (and they don't always even do that) without taking a few seconds to thank those who answered with correct information, it bugs me...

Kind of annoying, isn't it? .........

Well, as u may have noticed in the past......... there are those times when I hit the nail on the head....in my subjects ..or others...... that I call out...... read ..plead... for a Best Answer.............to no avail !!

It's those times ...where ya..... my ego demands that I ask to be recognized ...for whatever that answer was !!!

but then I move on......... cuz you can't dwell on things here you have no control over !!

but we're both still here............. so let's have fun !!!!!!!:happy::happy:

I agree this is very frustrating and you deserve and should have received better. I always look for your posts.

On the bright side, at least you didn’t receive put downs and arguments from OP, and lack of support from those who should know better, which is unfortunately what happens a lot to me when I post correct information on something I know well. I’m afraid it makes it hardly worth posting, when helpful statements of fact are attacked and argued against repeatedly.

Cheryl, I’d seen the cow jugs, they’re relatively common. Never ever a cat, which is why I didn’t think it English. I am now on the hunt.

Thanks, Jeff - I always enjoy your posts as well...

I understand your feelings all too well, over the years, on other forums/groups, as well as here, I've had the same experiences, including when posting period advertisements, catalog pages, etc. that are very reliable reference. One somewhat ignorant person mocked my use of "old books', because I challenged his ridiculous theories, and another person, who should have known better, frantically lambasted me with links to silver marks sites showing a mark as 'unidentified', and weirdly asking why it wasn't found in a respected book - even though I'd stated that the mark had just recently been firmly IDed and posted an image of the original trademark registration. There should be an exchange of opinions in any group, but when when facts are ignored, it is indeed frustrating.

Was pretty sure I'd seen it somewhere (I like English lusterware), but it's harder these days to navigate the mess of basically useless information in my head - and you know how I respect your knowledge of British pottery. Wishing you luck in the hunt!!!

Cheryl, I know enough to be dangerous!

I know that retrieval issue: head full of Stuff, if only I can find it. Bit like my house.
