Sometimes she writes in a more cursive manner than at others. The date discrepancy could be that the painting is from a photo or drawing made in Thailand in 1982 but painted in 2000, when, I note, she turned the P in Sophie into the symbol for Venus/female, so may have thought of herself as a feminist painter in her later years.</p><p><br /></p><p>There is a white school marm in the painting of the children learning to read.
