    The fish is by James Hala from Kugluktuk (Coppermine). Methinks Leo Patrick is a "fakelore" artist a la Dimu. The seal/sea lion is likely by Daniel Inukpuk (the felt dot is covering the final syllabic.

    Here is another seal - would it be okay to remove those green felt dots from the base?

    they serve no purpose... seems to be signed Lucassie Echalook

    thank-you Mark:) I was reading earlier about pieces marked Dimu, there is one in the lot. Also one piece by Aardvark and several by Thorn.

    The only numbers that are of any use for identification purposes (at least on Katilvik) are disc numers which are always prefaced by either an E or a W to denote Eastern or Western arctic. Any other numbers are wholesaler inventory numbers which are not searchable.

    both of these pieces have an E but don't show up there, would they be inventory numbers?
    no worries, I'm just trying remove the green felt - they are tough little suckers to get off:)

    yes, of course....but is there a more comprehensive list to be found , even with it's minor gaps....
    I don't know where that could be !

    i just came from the airport where an Inuit elder was shouting at his son , over the din...while in line to go thru security....
    I know when I hear Inuktitut ...........but seriously.....I could not make out even one word...

    I'm still unpacking stuff, found this round plaque, 11 1/2". Made of molded resin, looks like there was a sticker at some point. Maybe Boma, Thorn or one of those companies? Has abalone shell for the eyes, quite a striking piece to look at.
    they look like killer whales to me, not sure what the other bit is meant to represent.
