The gold stamp on the bottom says Made In Japan, so I know it is not Occupied Japan. </p><p>But why can&#039;t I find even a proximity to my pattern and gilding for a made in japan item. </p><p>I&#039;ve found the gold gilding dandelion pattern on a few sets but not floral pattern underneath. </p><p>I&#039;ve heard something about blanks but cannot confirm the floral patterned cup n saucer are actual blanks.</p><p>Where did my cup come from?</p><p>Is it a combination of German made blank and gilded in japan?</p><p>I do not own any other china as I gave it all away many years ago. I&#039;ve kept this set because the lady who gave it to me was very special and meant a lot to me. I&#039;ve had the set for 35 years. Mary could have picked it up anywhere as her husband was German and they traveled quite frequently. I received them in Canada.
