  1. Hello Bear - great to see you again

Yes I just discovered this place this evening - I only came across it by accident when searching for a forum to ask for info on a Chinese box I had bought - once I discovered the antiques board - it was only a hop skip and jump to here.
I have really enjoyed looking through everyone’s the posts this evening - took me back a bit - and I started noticing some familiar ids.
    Feels like I found home

Jewels was one of the absoute stalwarts of our old boards and sells stuff that would bankrupt me in a heartbeat. ;)

    Welcome home!

Thanks for the info and for weighing in on this piece. I believe the stone to be original because it fits so well in it’s place and the piece does not appear to have been monkeyed with.
And welcome, I’m glad you found us!

    I see F.W blob T.T.
I had some difficulties finding examples of Turton’s mark in order to compare this but it does seem to be much the same. I’ve attempted another close-up photo:

For comparison, from a pair of silver salts attributed it to Frederick William Thomkins Turton:

Well... in looking more closely at my close up photo, the mark on my fob DOES look different from the Turton mark. Anyone recognize it?

I have been going back and forth if it matches or not. I haven’t found any other possibilities so far.

I'm not sure about it being the original stone, appears to have a chip on the bottom edge and in the photo the girdle looks to be above the top of the bezel setting.
