Captain Kirkwood was the Captain of the HMNZS Endeavour during the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expeditions 1956 - 1958. Sir Edmund Hillary was a member of the expedition. The two books detail the voyage and account for the daily activities and any issues that arose. I also have personal handwritten notes and pictures that belonged to the captain.
