Featured Huge wedgwood jug

    Most likely a water ewer from a washstand set. There would have been a basin and other bits and pieces to go with it.

    It looks like it. It always amazes me how they wielded such a large jug full of water around their nether regions.

    You've used one? :bucktooth: I don't even remember my gran having one in her house and she was born in 1902.

    I thought they poured the water over their bits with the jug and caught the water in the bowl. Shows how practical I am.

    my folks had one at their country house....so of course I had to try it !!

    it was next to the Jacuzzi .......;):woot::woot:

    They sold that house many many years ago, when they were too infirm to use it anymore....& Dad wanted it gone fully furnished , so it was a bitch for me to rescue anything and a fight for every item I wanted....
    I don't know where the basin is .......... but..
