Yep, we are in a very "sensitive" age where what might be said casually or in all innocence finds one in an arena of disagreement, and on social media, it generally turns nasty.

 

my statements and beliefs are not unfounded - someone here thinks they are the guru of religion and beliefs and I haven’t been impressed or swayed by the rhetoric and the circles in which they speak - always has to have the last word and twist it to their perspective - not really an example of the truth I seek or know - so have at it - the stage is all yours - apparently you think you own it

 

and for the record I never felt the need to qualify but I will - I am the youngest of 7 from a just above poverty upbringing - I was sexually abused starting at the age of 2 - by age 9 I was and active drug abuser - at age 24 I got clean and sober and have been clean and sober over 36 years - I have a degree in chemical dependency counseling and have spent the last 5 years working with advanced dementia patience - I am now 60 and have spent my life dealing with people who talk in circles and sorting out the BS - I have spent 35 years studying religions and theologies and I am a certified 3 degree priest - so I don’t feel I need to take insults or direction from someone who doesn’t even know the practice of the tree can start both with a K or a Q - and doesn’t believe that there is flip darker side to all theologies and practices….

You certainly have been through a great deal of bad stuff and I applaud you for digging in and getting through and out of it. But, I would just point out that there are no definitive answers to these spiritual/religious questions which is why we struggle so much or just opt out of the subject altogether. We come from diverse backgrounds, have diverse educations (and I'm not speaking of just formal education, but "life" education) and so I think that we just need to respect each other's positions even though we disagree. Whether it's a Q, K or even C doesn't really matter in the long run. IMHO, that's a can't see the forest for the trees thing. As we used to say in the 60s, peace and love, man!
