    Hi Library Lady,
I have never had a sale where I was able to sit even for a minute. My old ones people would be lined up at 6AM and steady until 5:30PM. That was with two or three helpers. I loved those sales. Always made at least a thousand dollars on a really good day between 5 and 6 thousand. I would get up at 3AM and start putting stuff out at 3:30AM after a cup of coffee and a roll. It was nonstop until 6PM and try and grab some dinner. I've had people travel 200 miles to hit my sales. My ads always said NO clothes NO baby stuff no Tupperware.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Now...not so much. You'll be busy first thing. After that it depends on the stuff for sale, and the area you're in.

It is a good idea to say what you DON"T have as Greg mentioned. Some people write, no jewelry, no records, no silver etc, if that is the case. I prefer the listings that are really specific in that they say what they have for sale so I don't waste my time driving to look at baby clothes.

Some people even sell bottled water (yes marked up a bit) if it is hot at a yard sale.

    Hi Pearls,
Some times you can not win. I remember once I had an Oriental couple come 3 times in one day. They were looking for a newer computer desk. The newest piece of furniture I had was an American Empire table circa 1905. The second time they came I was thinking De Juvue, the third time I just said no PC desk. They thanked me. Huh????

Lock you house! Someone can be shopping out front while their partner is going in the back door and taking things from you house. Sad but true!

Been done. Most people are just looking for a deal, but all it takes is one idiot looking for a five finger discount to ruin the whole thing.
