Apologies, komo, kyra, and Jacques. Since the last windows update my computer keeps freezing, I keep having to reboot it, so my participation in forum matters is a bit haphazard at the moment. Your statue is not Zen ( :inpain: ), but Vajrayana Buddhist ( :) ), from the Himalayas. (You can tell where my sympathies lie, can't you.) It is a Bodhisattva, which represents one aspect of the nature of the transcendent Buddha. They can be recognized by their different hand postures (mudras). If I am correct this one represents the future Buddha, called Maitreya. Maitreya will bring the purest form of Buddhism, at a time when the world has almost forgotten Buddhism. Pure teaching, and pure enlightenment. The shape of the face looks Nepalese to me. The Bodhisattva was once attached to a double lotus throne, but was taken off by force. A great pity, it is a beauty, and it would have been much more beautiful on a throne. It looks antique, but it is difficult to tell the exact age. This is a Bodhisattva on a double lotus throne:
