I drove from Venice to San Benedetto and stopped in Rimini. It was very crowded but I loved the beaches with the colorful umbrellas and the little changing cabins.

I usually bought food to bring home! I bought paintings and drawings, small glass, anything that could fit in a suitcase. Once, I shipped a set of Deruta dishes from Ravello. The dishes were a bargain. The shipping was expensive.

My friend's daughter lived with me for 6 months so she could learn English. She wanted to work for Alitalia. She shopped so much while she was here, I had to give her my suitcase when she went back to Italy. Now that suitcase has traveled to Italy and back more than I have. Every time someone comes to Boston, the suitcase is loaded with goodies from Italy and then it goes back to Italy with things from here.

My daughter and two friends traveled through Europe for a month after college. Their favorite place was the Amalfi coast.

And my best friend's daughter taught school in Italy for ten years. Then she got a better job offer from Dubai. Her heart is still in Italy, though, and her name is Andrea too.
