Looking at the chest I cannot imagine it was ever painted as there is no sign of paint anywhere on it but if it was apparently my grandfather was very good at restoring furniture.</p><p><br /></p><p>I think it looks absolutly gorgeous and can&#039;t imagine anyone would ever want to paint it white.
