Yes, thank you. I did see the correct date and changed my post but not soon enough.

Plaque or medallion. Same diff. But did you not notice the signature?

  7. As a matter of fact I did not. Thanks for pointing that out.

The signature allows you to assign a date range, confirm the quality and find (rough) compareables on the internet, including sale prices.

  9. Have not found anything quite like this piece. Would they have made multiples of this one piece or would they be "one of a kind"?

There would have been multiples, but probably not thousands.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Sorry to butt in with an off-topic comment (horrors!). I've lived in the Midwestern US for most of my life, and have often used and heard the phrase "same difference" -- yet some people in other parts of the country have told me that is an odd phrase that must be used mostly in the Midwest. I've never thought of you as a Midwesterner, @Debora -- So now I am revising my knowledge of use of the phrase. Guess I'll need to do some research. Well, a quick search came up with this humorous post: http://www.word-detective.com/2010/10/same-difference/

    It's a very British phrase.

I heard 'same difference' growing up, also in the midwest US. I would say it is a colloquial way of saying something is a distinction without a difference, or a difference insufficient to matter: medallions v. plaquettes.

"Same dif?" Don't know where I picked that up. Just the same as potato vs. potahto but useful in those moments when one's feeling less Cole Porter.

The medallion of Cupid in the air looks like the doves of Venus are seeing him & his bow off the property.

We said it a lot as kids in the 80s and 90’s in CA. Come to think of it, I haven’t heard anyone use it recently (now NYC area).
