Help Identifying These Teacups, Please?

    These cups really seem to have sparked some controversy. I certainly have a new appreciation for how complex identification can be even when back stamps are present - it's very interesting!

    I think it's intellectual curiosity. Usually it's a great help to have marks and it's not difficult to find other examples with the same mark yours have. You'd think the mark would be easier to identify than it's proving to be so far. Somebody knows:)

    jaja, Paul Müller, Bayerische Ostmark that existed from 1933 to 1942. afterwards it was Gau Bayreuth and ze 8. US-Luftflotte played ze bass-dröms for Wagner Concerts untill ze bitter end.

    I thought that Paul Müller was probably a dubious identification, it was just the closest I found with an associated maker name. My Röntgen's book Marks on German, Bohemian and Austrian Porcelain is from 1981 so not the most current research anyway. I would like to know more about the mark from Dieter Zuhlsdorff Keramik Marken shown several posts above as I think it indicates Lehmann though not at all sure.

    Here is what Röntgen has as info for Paul Müller (since I brought it up).

    Yes decals and hand painting was a common technique, even hand painting over the decals was common. What has piqued my interest is the use of the printed "hand painted" on the back stamp. It seems to contradict the appearance of age on the cup.
