With what happened a few days ago by someone using pics from a website and claiming they were hers, I'm a bit leery of posting anything that isn't mine or isn't already on this website. As to their pics being copyright, I believe on a website is considered being published. On the "Terms and Conditions" of replacements.com they say basically that they claim sole ownership of any pic, image or whatever:

"With regard to any pictorial images--of any type or description, including without limitation photographs, drawings and/or digital images--provided to Replacements, Ltd. for identification, the owner grants to Replacements solely a non-exclusive, worldwide, paid-up, royalty-free license to reproduce, prepare derivative works, distribute copies, and/or publicly display the image(s)."

Now I have in the past used images from other sites but usually from nondescript sites and will no doubt do it again in the future.

THey were not making a "set" over several years, they were making teapots in that pattern, coffee pots in that pattern, sugars in that pattern, etc... I don't know how Gorham stored the stuff but I suspect teapots were in one place, coffee pots in another and so forth and so on. Customers would order a teapot, sugar, and creamer; teapot, coffee pot, sugar, and creamer; tp, cp, sugar, creamer, and waste bowl; or whatever. The items would be pulled from the different areas with no real attention paid to year to fill the orders. The year date in these set really have no importance other than mentioning the years a certain pattern was in production.

BTW, this silver service is lovely!

--- Susan
