Sure you should check but the signed ones were signed on the front. Be real that yours is NOT worth $975 IMO but that doesn’t mean that someone isn’t asking that much and a fool won’t buy it.

Do not bother contacting auction houses. In the “real” art world it has no value but on a venue like ebay you should see hundreds.

You have a minor giveaway piece of a most major American artist and it does have some value. It is not a poster. It is a mass produced ”limited” signed in the plate print. it is not an “open ended” production.

I was a fool. Years ago (2006) I almost talked myself into a multiple assemblage of his. It was $50,000 (for a multiple!) less a 10% members discount. My husband and I fought about it as it was obviously a major investment. We didn’t buy it and today it’s worth hundreds of thousands. His name is iconic in the US art world.

Hope you have success with your print but just remember that your success with it in an HONEST listing is pretty dependent on the stupidity of others.

Just want to add that quality of an artist item doesn’t necessarily have anything whatsoever to do with current market value although I maintain that this print is not of value to a true art print collector.

My fave example is the Campbell’s soup can paper dress which everyone calls the Warhol paper dress. It wasn’t issued by Warhol-it was issued by Campbell’s who played the free advertising Warhol gave their soup and brilliantly did not sue him. The dress cost $1.00 (or maybe $1.50-I forget) and TWO soup can labels. Today it sells for thousands and is in museum collections...I’ll never understand that one.

    Hi Reader,
I saw many of those dresses still in the package back in the 1970s. I bought several of them, Unfortunately when removed from the package most of them had torn where they were folded.:oops::oops::oops:

That’s a shame as intact ones go for a ton as ridiculous as that is since Warhol had nothing to do with them.
