    Hello Any Jewelry,
    Thank you:)
    I'll be looking out for those in need of translation and information on Japanese antiques. As you may know, the Japanese kanji characters originally come from China. The key to locating the difference is if the writing has hiragana or katakana with it. Then it's 100% Japanese unless it's not fake. I'll be happy to show everyone some of my antiques sometime.

    Nice! What kind of wakizashi did you have? W/koshirae?
    Did it have a name or was it a mumei (no name)?
    Most of the good quality katanas from the olden ages were made using "Nanban tetsu" or imported iron from China through trade. Nambu iron is now used in making kettles and kitchenware. I've added an interesting link down below.

    I shouldn't have looked at those; now I want them. I have an iron tea pot, but it sits on a shelf. (like most Americans I put a mug in the microwave.)
