You cant get much more Scottish names than the guardians of Scotland, I would love to come down to Oz have had it on my to do list for years you have a beautiful land and the people are so laid back and easy going whats not to like i always say, Fell in love with Oz and the people after watching Croc Dundee as a boy (still 2 of my favourite movies) i know theres 3 but wasnt keen on the 3rd.

In between my antiqing ventures i go hiking and theres no better place on earth i would say than the Scottish highlands (Just my opinion im sure others may disagree) if you come to Scotland and Glasgow in particular check out the world famous Barras market , Many a bargain to be had (although its a shadow of its glory years) the stall holders love to haggle its almost mandatory in fact.

Welcome Richard! I just went to Scotland for the first time last month. It's a lovely place, thoroughly enjoyed it! Of course I went to visit a dear friend so your beautiful country was really a bonus;)

My friends live in Glasgow so Ill be sure to check out the markets. Thanks for the recommendation. I hope you get to visit soon. Not sure you'll be able to live out your Dundee fantasy completely, but there is still a little of the "outback" close to Sydney and the real outback is quite breathtaking. And you still see an occasional black hat. ;)

If you go to Glasgow, be sure put the Hill House in Helensburgh on your list as well. You'll be seeing a lot of Mackintosh architecture etc in Glasgow as well, but the Hill House and contents are the best he ever designed, together with his wife and friends of course. The way he used natural light is wonderful.
Take your time in Scotland, and be sure to travel around the country, and some islands if you can. Every part is worth it.
