Right, because 925 is silver not gold. But the triangle is the key anyway, not the cartouche shape. EDIT - Although in the case, where the fineness number is missing for some reason, we at least know we're looking for a gold number.

I've just looked at that list again and it says imported plate..........

Edit- just had a Google and it definitely is the mark for gold. Why does that chart say plate?

 

Plate is the antiquated British word for things made of either silver or gold.
