Most of the ladies had added longer chains to them while others used 2 of them clipping one end to a corner of the napkin and the other to their collar or blouse and using a 2nd attached to another corner of the napkin. The first time I saw Mom doing that I said &quot;What a good idea! Where did you get the clips Mom?&quot; She whispered to me that they were those old sweater clips, and that it saved them from having to reach down and pick up their napkins during a meal. Also by having a napkin covering up their front more, it kept food from soiling/dripping on their fronts.
