Featured Gorham Sterling....nope COPPER?? Teapot!

    Actually, Gorham was one of the lesser providers to Tiffany, mostly flatware in the 1860s, especially Gorham's 'Medallion' pattern, which was very popular with other retailers as well. John C. Moore and Edward Moore, John Polhamus, Henry Hebbard, Gale & Hughes and Wood & Hughes were common wholesalers of holloware and flatware to Tiffany, from their entrance into silverware sales in 1847 until 1868, when the Moore shop merged into Tiffany and they became silvermakers on a competitive level with Gorham (who also retailed).

    And I also think, even though a bit beat-up, the kettle at right is the more elegant piece...

    UPDATE!!!!!
    The taller Gorham kettle sold for $150 and the smaller sold for $70.

    Unfortunately, the auction had two rings at the same time and I just missed these items.

    @komokwa indeed! I would have gladly paid the next bid ($160) but that doesn't mean the other bidder would have stopped, either.
