    US Thanksgiving is a celebration (questionable PC today by some)of a feast between the Plymouth colonists and the Wampanoag Native Americans. It is strictly a US holiday although there are other countries that celebrate the fall harvest in a similar way.

    Conservative Protestants here, mostly in very traditional fishing villages, celebrate a a harvest day type of thing in prayer. No feasting, but sitting in church.

    Those are also the villages that have an issue with vaccinations etc. They even set fire to covid testing centres.

    I spent Thanksiving Eve at a church service, but unlike the Dutch stiffs we serve pie afterward. The entire service consists of people giving thanks to G-d for various things. And everyone who can get vaccinated is.
