D'Arc? Just kidding. Is it the French Jeanne or in a different language?

Or Jehanne, better yet, if your parents went for the original version.

It is the French Jeanne. Jehanne would have been true to the girl's identity, though.
I don't know why I had to be called after a French martyr.:( My other names are French too, because of the French roots of my mother's side of the family.

Ah, yes, the naming whims of mothers. I have some of that in the middle too, which shall remain nameless.

Maybe try to think of her as a heroine rather than as someone who heard voices.

My middle name is a mistake; it's my mothers, who was given her grandmother's first name as a middle name ... or so everyone thought. Great-grandma's baptismal certificate tells another story; she went by a nickname and always told the family her real name was something else. Gramma was telling porkies.(LOL)

I don't mind the voices, it's the flames I am not too fond of.

The Jewelry Forum on this board would have been more 'appropriate' than metal ware, but, as you see, it doesn't much matter. The right people & items find each other anyway.

Anytime, kyra. Those drops of French blood were starting to curdle, I guess.:hilarious: And coming from an originally Celtic part of the Netherlands, with some Celtic blood myself, I love those Celtic heroes of old.
I showed this guy on the forum before, a 19th century statue of co-king Ambiorix, who ruled over this part of the world at the same time Vercingétorix ruled over yours:

Co-king: he shared kingship with a wise old man, Catuvolcus. Ambiorix was the fiesty component in the partnership. I'm sure the little dragon on his head helped.;)

Sounds like the brand name of a pharmaceutical.

Knew I had seen V. before, but didn't know who it was. Not mine, from my 'reference library':

Have to think the 'rix' in these names is from Latin 'rex'.

Wow! thanks AJ for the historic precision, I never heard of a co-king to Vercingetorix! (wasn't very fond of history/geography lessons in school:arghh:, due to an awful teacher:oldman::vamp:).

Those teachers can spoil a lot.:(
He wasn't co-king to Vercingetorix, but to Catuvolcus. They were colleagues and neighbours of Vercingétorix. They were Eburones, and ruled part of Belgica, the land between the rivers Rhine and Meuse. Vercingétorix ruled part of Celtica, further south.

I have, that's why I posted the little guy.;) Part of my childhood, and we loved how every term was made into a Celtic name, like this one * .
Bronwen may not know him, don't know if he made it across the pond.

He has streaked across my awareness from time to time, but, like Tintin, have never read.

Think close calls with asteroids should be called aster-risks.

The seller also says either goldplated copper or gold, so nothing definite about the metal. They seem to have been made in both, and in silver(plated?).
