Oh good. Pity about the rack though.
I have had the same with some sellers. Some people seem to think that packages are handled with kid gloves and are placed in individual velvet lined compartments where no other parcels can hit them or put weight on them. Or how roughly some parcels are handled.

Can it be mended? There are some strong adhesives. I would try, it’s too beautiful to throw it away :sorry:

Unfortunately as it is faience the edges of the broken piece are all chipped so that when you put it together the join would be an ugly white scar. I've put it in a box that's due to go to auction. Maybe someone will try to restore it but a simple glueing won't look right.

That's awful. I'll warrant their is nobody on this website wouldn't have it in a hall table. I'm sorry.

The annoying thing is that it takes a lot of effort finding stuff like this so the broken pieces can represent hours of searching. I try to find one good buy a day but some days I find nothing.

That's so annoying isn't it. I've have the same problems too, some people go crazy overboard and others stick it in a box with a couple of sheets of newspaper.

Worst one I ever had, someone sent me a plate in a jiffy bag, 2nd class. Miraculously that one arrived safely!

Forgot to ask, how did the Challinor jug do?

Not very well. Only£147. I expected twice that. Never mind it wasn’t an expensive buy.

Mmm, the buyer did well with that one then. I have had some success with auctions of Chinese items, but rarely do them these days. Back in the 90's you could be certain pieces would fetch their value, but it's a real lottery these days.

I’m having problems with non payment. Two Chinese bidders in the last two weeks with no contact at all .

Yep, happens all the time on BIN offers too. Since they are moving to the managed payments system they run themselves I would had thought they would be able to take control of this and auto-debit after the sale.

I'm sure I have had people buy items just to get them off sale for a few days while their auctions run through as well. 'Buyer' in same location as an auction running for the same item.

the auction situation on ebay is just a mess. Any other auction anywhere in the universe you give them your charge card and it gets debited. Some of them are not auto debited but in that case you won't get to bid ever again. The ebay system is just stoopid. I've only had a few buyers fail to pay on BIN. Ive never sold via ebay auction.
