@Any Jewelry You need to quit picking on him. It's like watching a mouse squeak under the foot of a fire breathing dragon.
I love this forum!. I've had a s**t day having had to defend my little girl when she was made to feel inadequate and I come on here and see a photo like that . I was getting totally overwhelmed by life and still am sometimes but find this forum a lovely safe place to lose myself even if it's only for a few minutes of my day,it resets the equilibrium. I've 'met' some truly amazing people on here who have taken the time to answer my questions and have treated my items with respect no matter whether they are trash or treasure. It's amazing to have a link across the globe to so many wonderful people. I know the tone of most regular posters now, some are analytical, some blunt, some radical and some just make pleasant comments. As in life, some people have a more refined filter than others!. Some threads veer off wildly (the sewerage pendant ) and some are short and sweet. Very rarely do I see pointless negative comments or rudeness and if there is it is usually from a new poster who doesn't like what they hear. I had an early misunderstanding when I thought a derogatory comment was aimed at my question but it was sorted quickly and apologies went both ways. This forum is totally unique compared to others- You are all amazing
Believe you've misunderstood, Komo - I read it as a tongue-in-cheek comment, with AJ as the dragon... ~Cheryl
maybe if she put the dragon 1st...then the mouse...... U no....Dragon picking on mouse...... instead of the other way around...... Mouse picking on Dragon...................... I might have understood it better !
Dear komo, thanks for sticking up for me. Dragons and I are BFFs, remember? Kiko knows that. And @KikoBlueEyes : I'll keep a close eye on the mouse.
Geez, Komo - just another example of how the written word can be misunderstood, you were just sticking up for AJ... ~Cheryl
Apology accepted, komo. There is nothing mouse-like about AJ. I thought everybody knew that. Just a misunderstanding.
I am super lost. Who or what is DSS? In regards to the forums, I have seen nothing but support. Even the small jokes and wandering narrative is amusing in my opinion since it lets us see who everyone is. I appreciate the different ideas even if contradictory within members opinion on objects or details. It teaches me. If it’s not the knowledge I was looking for it’s still worth to save for later. My current passion is jewelry. Because of the bit of interaction I have been fortunate to receive I am starting to learn how to see things where they shouldn’t be and in that sense discover potential items which have value to me and my collections. In a tiny time frame collectively you all have taught me there are things like silver marks, distinct paterns in ivory, what to check for in coral, how to discern brooches by time period, paste gems do have value, etc. I’m sure this is all availabe online but I appreciate the “one-stop” nature of this community. I like something, I ask all of you. You spark ideas for things to research based on my finds. Who else takes the time to do that? Friends. Friends do things like that. Thank you, friends, for all of your knowledge and patience.
