    Do they have any record for selling antique art? If so, it might not be a bad choice. You know what they say about a Bird in the hand.....

    At the risk of stating the obvious, it is crucial to do proper research to find the best venue to sell an item rather than the most convenient.

    A quality restoration job by an art conservator can run $1000+! Unfortunately, that range sounds fair.

    I agree, I just had a painting cleaned (only very minor damage to repair) and the frame stabilized and it cost me $800.
