It's gorgeous. If reselling, definitely take Yourturntoloveit's advice with measurements. Guessing that this a very small size. Women's bodies were so different back then. No working out at the gym, etc.

Beautiful dress. I've never seen anything like this outside of antique stores. Never at an estate sale or garage sale. Thanks for sharing.

I see that some 20's dresses can fetch good money. Just wondering about the measurements. The dummy is sort of 'average woman' size. How about the under dress that possibly goes with it?

It does look a bit Downton, now you mention it.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I did a broader "sold" eBay search than the one that was linked. Just "beaded dress" in the Women's Vintage Clothing category. It does appear that many of them sold for good money... especially the older ones. Even the 1980s dresses were selling well.

If it fit, I'd wear that in a heartbeat. So would a lot of other women, at least the toothpicks who could fit into a 20s dress.

I will take some measurements of both items and some advice on if I'm doing it right.

I would say hands down the sheath pictured goes under your sheer dress. Very nice! even hung on one hanger together, you can get the idea of how they look together! very nice!!

Makes me rue the loss of the sylphlike body of my youth. :)

I really had to read 'sylphlike' twice. The first, more medical, impression took me aback a bit.

    Me too, LOL
I know a woman who used to deal in these things, she use to sell them at Newark for good money, buyers were usually TV companies,
    (not TV`s = Trannies) lol

They use them as patterns for costuming departments. A copy would make a killer wedding gown if you're into the look.

Stunning. Yes, one outfit, yes, 1920s and you need to contact Kerry Taylor auctions. Might be worth putting that purple shrug her way, too. Might make a couple of hundred quid, that, it's museum quality - the dress, I mean.

Well,at the moment they are just dressing a dummy in the shed, so I suppose it's worth a shot.

I'm not mad keen on paying them over 40% of the sale price, though. I might try it at an antiques fair first. Still, no harm getting an opinion. Do you know anything about the company personally?

I've heard nothing but good of her, and she does have a loyal following, which I think is reflected in high sale prices. Worth getting the opinion so that you can see how much it might get at a fair - although, I suspect it's rather a specialist thing. I'd bounce the other clothes off her, too, that Liberty jacket is rather fine.

Please don't dump them, they are lovely!! They may be clothing, but they are also works of art. Someone would surely love to have them. I vote 20s or 30s. Looks like something a flapper would wear. I love the way flappers dressed.
