    Orleans, MA is the only town in the US that was attacked by foreign powers twice. In Dec. 1814, we were attacked by the British and we repelled them during the Battle Of Rock Harbor. In WWI, a German submarine came close at Nauset beach and shelled the shore. They sunk a coal barge. Fishermen still bring up big chunks of coal in their nets. We have one. We repelled them, too. ;) Orleansians are tough.
