There was a waterford crystal factory in Ireland from 1783 to 1853, it then closed for 100 years before being re opened in Waterford by a joint venture between two famous Czeckslovakian glass makers and an Irishman in 1947 after the soviets nationalised their Czech factories. They then recreated the origional Waterford Lismore design from the 18th century. Long story short, my best guess is that the glasses were from the earlier factory.
