[QUOTE="evelyb30, post: 388297, member: 36"]Went to an estate sale this morning, in a "town home" on a golf course. The neighbors were real pills, calling the HOA and yowling. The dealers couldn't put a sign outside (the HOA President showed up and got nasty about it) so you had to know the address. They gave out numbers at 8:30 and I was there at 8AM. Got number 1 for the first time in my life..only to find out someone else had A1 - she'd told some sob story and got in first.

I'd had my eye on some Navajo pearls, but she got to them first. OTOH I got the 14k, solid, cuff links that are going straight to melt. No real design value there. Heh. She blew past the mens' "costume" too quickly, and I know this crew and they miss hallmarks left and right. Two other pair of 14k earrings later.... They also seriously blew it on an Orrefors bowl, but thankfully someone else snagged it.

They did make me pay up for an Ayala Bar (Israeli costume jewelry) necklace, but the pin went for less. I just got another one by the same maker elsewhere, and the fan pin came this morning - silver with coral and pearls. There's also a costume necklace, unmarked artisan silver, a citrine and fluorite crystal pendant with compartment, and some other costume and sterling.
