Many southern rebel states produced similar notes to finance the war. I believe that it is authentic since the ink used in the signature and serial number looks correct for the era. The paper looks right too, it is the thin brittle rice paper that was common for use by the Confederate States.</p><p><br /></p><p>There are a number of these notes currently available on eBay and they don&#039;t sell for that much, especially in this condition.
