A bust of the composer G. Puccini. Apparently it's circa 1930 according to this site that has one of them as well: http://ashleywadeantiques.co.uk/index.php/gallery/detail/composition-bust-of-composer-puccini If it's truly that old, it would make sense that the bust was made in the late 20's since Puccini died in 1924. I'm a bit confused when it comes to the material. It's more durable and more "stone-like" than plaster but when I decided to wash it (at that point I thought it would withstand that), pieces of the base started to break off and liqyify, like plaster (thank goodness it was the base). Luckily I was quick to dry it and noticeable damage was avoided.
