I have one of those bumped-out rectangular earrings sitting here, just one, with post-1978 marks on it. The butterfly is a design they're still making, but it was created in the 40s at a guess. It's probably all silver but it's hard to say whodunnit or when without the marks.</p><p>The box I'm afraid is a goner.
