I&#039;m not kidding...</p><p><br /></p><p>The small 3 piece lot below was $30. That includes great, great grandma&#039;s portrait -- 19th C. reverse painted on glass, and two 19th C.(?) Pennsylvania(?) redware(?) pieces. I don&#039;t know much about American pottery, but these belonged to grandma. The two-handled piece is unglazed except for the top quarter and has what appears to be a flower-frog-type design within.</p><p><br /></p><p>These other two pieces are Asian (Chinese &amp; Japanese). The small late-19th C. blue double-lozenge vase with stand was $10 (similar examples of the same size and form sell for around $500) and the oddest, and one of the most beautiful Japanese Meiji (1868 - 1912) Period pieces I&#039;ve come to own was roughly $30. I&#039;m not exactly sure what it was used for, but I believe it&#039;s a form of tea caddy(?) for special Japanese tea ceremonies. Not 100% sure. The body is finely woven bamboo, and the cover is of mixed metals (gilt-bronze, silver &amp; copper) with inlaid shell underneath the waves openwork.
