I went hunting yesterday. The sale I was looking forward to would have been good, but I found a pile of stuff in the garage (it was an estate dealer's sale) and he put a sky high price on the pile and wouldn't negotiate. Then he sold me what I think is a sterling handled carving set and a softball glove for $5. (oops) The best find, if not the most valuable, is a little plastic pin. It's a Jewish St Patrick's Day pin. Has me scratching my head too. I also got a sterling key necklace for a buck. That's already on its way to a friend in Australia. Handed it to her husband this morning, who was at my church as a guest speaker. I have to resize the rest of the photos.

Great table, Davey. BMRT, I love that wall hanging. Bear, great jewels as always!
    Komokwa, lovely display.

I started to photograph the jewelry from last week, but I went out playing around yesterday, so here is some of that. I passed a yard sale sign that led into a development, but turned around. Good thing- at 11:30 a.m., this was still there: Weber sterling dresser set, brush a bit dented, oh well, for $5 I won't argue. Thanks to Bakersgma for identifying the maker. Does anyone know the pattern or time period?

I found this Japanese ivory queen chess piece in a thrift shop for $5.25. She was holding a cocktail umbrella which I will replace.

And one huge antique mall has gone out of business because the shore town land itself is probably worth over a million dollars alone. I found out via my email that another one (not a shore town) is closing after Columbus Day weekend. The fine jewelry from one vendor was 50% off. I have been trying on this emerald ring for years, and the largest discount was only 10% off. So since YOLO, it's now mine. The picture doesn't do it justice.

Looks like the 4 leaf clover theme has been around for some time............ https://www.google.com/search?q=4+l...4dPkAhVKrJ4KHVzBB6sQ8NMDCMEB&biw=1513&bih=867

@Marko The pattern on that vanity set does not have a name, but it is very much like a number of designs of the late 30's into the 40's. (And by the way the maker name is Webster, not Weber. ;) )

Thank you! I am so duh unless it has to do with jewelry.

Symbol of Ireland/St Patrick's Day is the three-leaf shamrock.

Symbol of good luck is the four-leaf clover.

I honestly don't know if it that matters when it comes to the addition of a Star of David (or any other religious symbol for that matter). :bag:

    But this doesn't look like a 4 leaf clover - it's a 3 leaf shamrock.

I think luck is a small part of it. We all work hard to find our things-Davey, you do house cleanouts, some of us get up super early, we all put in countless hours researching things....and it pays off. I just saved $25 with coupons grocery shopping. But even that was work. :)

OK ... The wall hanging/rug whatsits are all small. The bright one is probably Mexican. The other two want to be Navajo but have fringes on both ends; that's enough to make me wonder. The Indian textile is really stiff and I think it's a tourist souvenir. The dude on the horse is a Mughal prince if memory serves. (on the way to his wedding maybe?) The jewelry is a pile of odds and sods. A little sterling, a little costume, and a small horn owl (as opposed to a great horned owl) snuff box.

Yes. But there was a post about the pin that linked to four leaf clover pieces. I responded to that.

True. But I didn't understand why she jumped to 4 leaf clovers and good luck when the pin is a 3 leaf shamrock. I was just pointing that out.
