Not knowing much about pottery I was going to ask about this Royal Winton vase I found in the latest clearance.

It was full of pencils, pens, hair grips, erasers and buttons.

    10 inches tall, undamaged.

I brought it home from my lock-up intending to photograph it in daylight.

My guess was 1950's blue & green lustre of sorts.

I got waylaid with phone calls, dinner etc, etc.

The interest in the vase ceased when I found this in the bottom.

Just over 37g of 9k from the mid 70's, its like what medallion man used to wear.:hilarious::hilarious:

It equates to £580 ($710) to me, far more than the vase:hilarious::hilarious:

And every time you reach inside you find new things, because beings from another reality teleport them into the vase. Until one day....:nailbiting:

Very satisfied with todays jewellery finds. All out of two local shops that almost never have anything worthy, total spend less than £20.

    5 silver rings
    4 gold rings
    Small gold teapot charm

If you can help with the gold rings i am posting in the jewellery section.

That one in the lower right looks Israeli; the lower left looks gold and turquoise. The Israeli one might be gold-washed silver.

    Stolen by Bagginses?

I feel like I stole the store this morning, but I'll have to upload the photos before going into detail.

Today was the first day open for the new season of a local charity shop. I made sure to get there early and ... bingo. I ended up with: a big 14k ring, 14k and amethyst earrings, a 10k bracelet, some earrings that I need to loupe, vintage sterling screwbacks, modern sterling Mexican comedy/tragedy earrings, an amber ring, and a pearl ring of unknown composition other than it has real freshwater pearls. For $76 including the tax.

Down the street at an antique store I found a few more bits. The plastic pull toy Santa was there (about 1950?) and what I think is a bakelite necklace. It needs testing. That was another $20 ... for the pair.

The yellow necklace is ... I think ... 1930s satin glass.

Ruth that Santa pull toy may have the name Rosbro or Rosen on it somewhere. Cool find. They still sell nicely tho they don't bring as much as they used to. I have one with a rabbit on it that was sold for Easter.
    Nice haul.

These are a bit boring for the finds thread but I learned something from buying them. I took a chance they might be gold, no hallmarks, horrible plastic backs. They seemed too heavy, thought maybe they were plated but the posts looked ok and there were a few dents. Cost was only £1.50. Took them to my gold buyer today who tested them and they turned out to be 18ct, I’m only used to picking up 9ct, so that’s why the weight confused me. Got £118.

I think I had a similar pair Houseful, but mine probably were not real. I remember wearing them back in the day.

It was. He even cut one of them in half just to check they were hollow, they just seemed so heavy. I also had a unmarked CZ ring he tested but that turned out to be plated.
