Yesterday at the local table top sale. Alas the ruby glass casket is damaged at the back but it’s not too noticeable it will do for my dressing table C0E3BD77-9034-471F-B682-DBBA4BDA2946.jpeg A78AC487-D87C-4E07-9E7B-B1E81117AB9F.jpeg 181CBF3A-A53C-4A52-8E9A-6D8A67F315B4.jpeg and it was only 50pence.

Alas, I am not putting to much faith in that prospect. The original looks more like it came from the Civil War, as mine looks like it went through the Civil War. I can tell you that my $1 investment is not printed via todays printing machines or copiers. Looking through a micro loupe you can see the ink is a solid aplication and the actual paper fibers possibly from that era, so I am thinking more of an ink press or darn good forgery. Handwriting for the most parts have extremely little variations as well as the spacing. My piece also looks as though the writing was applied over the already folded creases. Both letters are folded differently and mine looks to be the more modern way, although I dont know what the norm of the day was. It’s said that many museum pieces are copies as they don’t want originals to be in any peril around the public. So I might have a billion to one chance ;). Hahaha

Ok, so that all said, riddle me this. Lincoln was a well educated lawyer, so why in the Mighigan library original does it read:

“I regret the necessity of saying I hays no daughters I have three sons.”

am I missing something? Either way this in no means legitimizes mine. :)

Same show, this 10k CZ ring (bad picture, the stone really sparkles) a dollar

Looks you did OK for costume! That funky pin is sandcast Navajo, or a good clone thereof.

If you ignore that downstroke, which looks like a random mark, the first 'have' looks just like the second.

What your document is missing is the word 'Private' at the top.

Well I will only ignore the down stroke if they ignore the missing word “private”, which no one seemed to have respected anyway. :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

All kidding aside, since the moment I picked it up in my hand I knew it was spurious. But I will “hays” to “have” fun with it ;).

I love Grace's grasp of the situation: All ladies love whiskers; if you grow whiskers, all the ladies will love you; if all the ladies, who cannot vote, love you, they will convince all their husbands to vote for you; if all the husbands vote for you, you will win. QED

Wise beyond her years indeed. Even when the laws prohibited womens rights to vote, an eleven year old girl understood “Behind every great man, there is a better woman”.

I'm feeling better currently but my physicians have not yet found the root cause of my condition which concerns me greatly. I've been in and out of the hospital and testing so hopefully I get some news soon.
