Thanks, Marko. I need to look the mark up on Gotheborg. On one the mark was only partial because of the fill hole. The other one has enough to search for.

Found the mark - here's what he says about it. 20's-30's is what I assumed anyway from the decoration.

    527. Might be of the Hotta Yu Shoten & Co. The use of the word "Shoten" indicates the name for a shop which is selling products from its own kiln. In either case they seems to have went out of business in 1947. This mark likely to be from the 1920-30s.

You can try to verify George Patterson, or put it on thread to double check with the pros.
    All very nice!

Unfortunately, that link went no where, INH. Was it an ended listing?

Nice finds bakers, I love the ashtray:)
that is something that drives me nuts, either salt or pepper still in the shakers, even in the thrift stores they still have stuff in them. Why don't people empty them first?

Given how ancient the pepper probably was, no loss!

I did manage to get two things from that aborted estate sale today. One was a fairly new if pretty menorah. No marks whatever. The other is a 1950s mezuzah cover pendant, sterling silver. The first shot (uploaded second, go figure) is some stuff I dug out for @Any Jewelry - my West Coast orca earrings and a larimar pendant. DSCF9726.JPG

Have you ever been at a thrift and turned over a salt shaker to see if there was a maker's mark...

...and inadvertently spilled salt all over the floor?

Found 3 pieces of Habersham furniture at the thrift yesterday. Am astounded by the prices this brings new. I paid $35.00 for all three pieces. Get a load of this ….

Found it on sale elsewhere for the bargain price of just under $1800.00

As far as I can tell, these other two pieces are out of production. All three have the Habersham tag.

I was at a loss about what to do. On one hand, if these are really worth this much, I should sell elsewhere than in my shop space. On the other hand, I need some furniture and sales from my space. I decided to price the first piece at the bargain price of $229.00 The other two, I priced $89.00 and $129.00 respectively.

I know from experience my market will not bear higher. (I still have a Charleston Forge shelf unit that retails about $1200.00 that I could not get $100.00 for.) I initially thought about pricing these at about half what I ultimately priced them at. This was before I researched. I knew that Habersham was good but didn't realize how good. Quite frankly, I don't get how they can get these kind of prices. The furniture is really not that good of quality.

Ultimately, I will be happy if I can sell these quickly and move on. I don't need the headache of having more "good" things I can not sell. This is particularly true when it comes to furniture since it takes up space. After all, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

they all have the tag........and you're the furniture guru......don't sell yourself...or these items short....
Put em in a furniture auction and get full value.....or close !

This brings up an interesting idea. Really didn't think there would be much of an established secondary market since so new. Ebay has some pieces but most are not selling. Only a pair of stands made what I consider to be decent money. Just looked at liveauctioneers and there are several results to see. Performance is rather spotty, with prices all over the place. Smaller pieces did not fare particularly well. Bottom line, I doubt I could expect better than what I have priced these at.

    Here are Habersham table results....
