I love the table, Davey, and I am looking forward to seeing more of the jewelry finds.

I stopped at an antique mall yesterday (still raining here) and a jeweler opened a booth. The watch was from another booth, and I believe it is 14k, taking it to my watch guy this weekend.


The green turquoise ring is from the jeweler's booth and is marked M Bassilente, can't find anything out about the artist.

I also bought a plain 14k pink topaz eternity band from that booth.

 

Nice ring! The watch case may well be 14k; a lot of them are only marked on the inside. I melted one recently made in a similar fashion. (it was damaged and not working, and no one wants womens' watches anyway.)

 

Three brooches, base metal with gold and silver inlay double fan, an ola gorie ‘flow’ brooch and enamelled silver double wave by Ivar T Holth. Cost me about £4 for all.

 

I recently found a mid-century 14k white gold ladies watch with 6 diamonds at an antique mall for $25. My watch guy is pretty reasonable, so I get them repaired. The difficult part is getting bands for like the one I posted today....they seem to need a roll over band or a cloth band. The one above is heavy....and even if it is gold-filled, I love the etching. I used to wear them, but I have to wear a Fitbit Alta now to track heart rate due to cardiac issues and I look doofy with double watches.

Thanks OBB, I had trouble spelling and went for the much easier inlay.

 

Still wanting to get an Etsy shop up and running (for the last 3years), the jewelry box is overflowing into other boxes and stuff is hanging from doors.

 

Houseful, getting an esty shop set up is fairly easy. If you have any specific questions, just start a thread and all of those who sell on etsy can try to help out.

 

There's no time like the present! It's so easy to procrastinate... I know it can be difficult once you get into the habit of putting off the next step in implementing an idea.

 

Thank you. I think it’s maybe because my concentration isn’t what it was (over 60 now) and I’ve never sold anything on eBay, though I have bought a couple of items using PayPal. It seems fraught with pitfalls, especially eBay. I do have to grasp the nettle as I can’t leave this for my family to sort out.

 

I promise to do it in the next 2/3 months. That’s it, I’m committed now.
Hopefully it will have cooled down a bit by then.

 

Houseful, you can always list just one item on etsy and see how it goes.

Etsy has their own payment system in place for new sellers which incorporates PayPal into it automatically.
I don't sell on ebay anymore, I used to. I still buy there.

I am no spring chicken either, but I think this is something to try.

Have never heard of Ola Gorie, but I do like her stuff!

 

I've several bits by both makers - about the only modern stuff I'll buy. If you phone Sheila Fleet's company, she often answers the phone, which is lovely.

Happened upon an estate sale this morning that I had not seen an ad for anywhere. Lots of neat stuff to see. Here's what I decided to buy.

9 inch brown transferware soup bowl, pattern name Bosphorus, but I can't figure out who made it. Only $4 (I have a soft spot for brown transfer.) I tried searching the Potteries site for a GP maker, but didn't find one. There's also a partial impressed mark - letters look like TTERSON? Any thoughts? Should I put this on the PGP Forum? I have more detailed pictures.





Found a pair of Japan luster salt and pepper with very bright and cheery flowers (complete with pepper inside. ) $2



And just because I cannot pass up a nice piece of M A Hadley, got this farmer ashtray. $3.
