Oh my gosh ... Thank you @evelyb30 ! I seriously never would have guessed that it might be truly old. So very cool. I didn't even see your reply last night because it must have been posted while I was uploading photos. Sorry I didn't see it sooner. I like the pin even more now! :)

A few more finds from the last two weeks.

A couple of old bells from GW ... where I also found the blue enameled vase. It is dented and has some loss to the enamel, so I'm not sure what to do with it ... but at that price it wasn't NOT coming home with me. Cool looking coin bank - brass and aluminum? No markings on it but it had a 1996 penny from England rattling around in it. New-ish Italian pewter hourglass (I'm always keeping my eye out for 'Match' pewter ... but this wasn't one of theirs)

The camera battery is pretty low so these photos sort of suck - sorry ... not to mention that I'm using the wrong color background ...
a water glass engraved with 'Vishy' and volume marks (should have had a wicker holder from what I've read), Engraved Hawkes glasses (6 total) - can't see the design in this photo ... it's grapes, leaves and lots of tendrils, small teapot that is giving me hives trying to translate, bird by Boehm.

inkwell - will have its own thread shortly (if camera cooperates)

At first I thought that that was NJ's state bird the Eastern Goldfinch but it's a Willow Goldfinch. Washington's State's state bird...where I live now though born NJ. :)

Now that's a haul! I'd have snagged that silver vase too, dent or no dent. Does the bank have any marks at all?

Thanks. Not a single identifying mark on it. It's brass on the bottom with a threaded 'stopper'.

Oh? The Boehm website doesn't make that distinction. What makes you say that?

They make porcelain things ... they're in Jersey.

Many years ago, I bought my cohabitant (now husband) a trinket box almost identical to yours at a gem and mineral show ...

I was only referring to the bird not who made it. :)

So, once again, what makes you say it is a Willow Goldfinch and not an Eastern Goldfinch?

At the risk of posting too many 'finds', I'm sharing today's stuff and a couple of items I forgot from last week.
Cool $4 sterling ring which will be shown again, with better lighting, in it's very own thread.

Copper tea kettle with dovetail joint. Not sure if it's an antique, but it sure has been used a lot. $5 Its bird beak has been pushed in - but pretty sure that's an easy fix. Not crazy about that crown bit at the top ... reminds me of a fire extinguisher.

Found these two hiding among the beanie babies and Pillow Pets at the GW. No ear-tags nor any holes where tags could have been ... but they sure do look as if they should have had them ... style-wise, I mean. The bunny is blind and the beagle has a loose ear and toe thread ... at .97 and 1.97, I'm OK with their 'faults'
    P1130395(1).JPG
finally, a bunch of buttons ... most are just functional ... but some are interesting and I'll make a thread at some point.

All that white over black should make it a Willow. Eastern has less white. :)

Quirky, I know the bunny is Steiff's LULAC (mid-1950's to 1960's or so) but I don't remember who the dog is. Definitely, Steiff, however.

    Here's a LULAC with eyes & button:

Love the ring, too. Looking forward to the post on it.

Thanks, SBSVC for the 'before' photo of the bunny! :) .... and thanks for helping to confirm who made it.
Steiff called their Beagle dog "Biggie" - he would have had a red collar with the hang tag on it. I felt they were probably Steiff, but was uncomfortable attributing them without the tags or any supporting evidence.

    They sure were loved.

I had my Mom's bear until our German Shepherd ate half of him one night :(

Looking more closely, I believe your snowbaby figure on a sled is the little boy - the little girl image is shown in the book on page 71 and mention the 'mirror image boy'. Both were stamped in black Germany.
