The inlaid box is from Granada, Spain. Doesn't look too new but post-World War II.

Flowers? It will be AGES before there are flowers! The new stalk is shorter than my thumb. ;)

Sorry no pics, a link to a near identical piece will have to do (price seems a bit high to me), but lucky these days to have time to post at all. Appropriate for Veterans Day, one of my brothers did three combat tours in Vietnam but I can't recall hearing about 'short timer's sticks' or seeing one - spent a quarter on one like this at the church rummage sale I stopped at a few days ago: https://longislandpickers.wordpress.com/2014/10/02/u-s-officers-swagger-stick-vietnam-war-con-son-island-prisoner-made/

    I didn't know of this! :)

I the Navy we had 'short timer's' chains.
Brass sash chain worked the best and usually for 30 days.
It was hung on your belt loop or retractable key chain and one link was removed ever day. :)
I still have it all. :)

I had it figured for Eastern Mediterranean like most of them, but Grenada wouldn't surprise me too much.

Poor girl couldn't get hold of a shirt the right length, or big enough trou. It looks like she raider her 12 year-old sister's closet.

I have some of these old free-standing frames that tip. I just got this at the thrift and have never seen one that spins!

It is in fabulous shape, beautiful and detailed.

It’s 14” x 10” and I’ve not yet figured out how to get the photos out. I figured one side was slip-fit but tugging those doesn’t work.

No glass in this and fairly sure all is wood and that the bottom felt is original.
    Sorry there is some fuzziness.

    Anyone have knowledge of these?
