I found a "little gem" (to me) hardcover book this weekend: A Guide to Bird Finding East of the Mississippi, by Owen Sewell Pettingill, Jr., (with illustrations [pen and ink] by George Mirsch Sutton), New York, Oxford University Press, copyright 1951, printed in the United States of America, Second printing 1955, 606 numbered pages of text, 7 pages of "Suggested Reference Material," and pp. 615 through 659 of the "Index." It is in excellent condition. ;)

I am going to use/read it for "historical" information and to hopefully determine (to satisfy my own curiosity) how many different birds which lived here or migrated through here are no longer living here or migrating through.

What I need to find - Noah's cell number. It's currently raining like crazy out there, and generating urban and small stream flood warnings.

I hear it's raining like **** outside my window. Jersey got it first, but it's moving up the East Coast. We were in a rain deficit, but this isn't how we wanted to get out.

I just took a look. That is NOT anything you want to be driving in. It's why there haven't been any cars on the road here for hours except maybe some emergency vehicles. I haven't even heard an ambulance or fire truck.

I'd like to see Customs and Homeland Security try and tell the storm to go back where it came from.

Many people are dumber than a mud fence. It’s why they die doing stupid s**t like crossing washes in Vegas in floods.
Storm over and sunny, I once watched some dimwit try to drive into an underpass where it was flooded to roadway level.
There may have been 4’ from the water surface to the concrete of the bridge!!!!
    What wipea**!
Now the clownfart has to be rescued!!!
    CAN’T SWIM!!!! :p

That's why they give out Darwin Awards. I call those "hold my beer" moves, since they always seem to start with some dimwit who's had a few too many and couldn't think straight even if he were sober.

Most of those are SO hysterical I just about pass out laughing. :)
First time I read any I was in an ‘old’ Borders book store.
I was literally on the floor trying to breathe!!!! ;)

Meant to say the E-jit hit the water fast enough to make it pretty far across the surface!!!
But not enough to at least reach the bridge.
FD was near and the car floated for awhile.

It just fell apart all over, constantly in the shop. I traded it in on my Celebrity, and I was at Rowan College one semester and it was in the parking lot. I know because there was a dent in the dashboard.

Yeah, it was pouring here yesterday and it continues. It is windy; it is the day of our town's Halloween parade, and the rain and wind should clear up by 6:00 p.m. The only problem is a 10 minute commute takes me an hour because they close off so many roads for the parade. But the kiddies have fun.

Today I went to the Ill Will and found the power out. The only place in town that's down, and it's the shopping center. We lost a lot of dead branches, but otherwise no biggie. The big barometer shift however hit my ears like going over a mountain. It "popped" and won't un-pop for a while.

This is not a find really, but heads up as the new trend is called
Jungalow and is supposed to be HOT!
Take a look on Pinterest to see what this is about, perhaps you have some items
that would fit this category (if you sell).

Hmmm, so earthly ... bohemian ...

Jungalow - a synonym for treehouse; derived from “jungle” and “bungalow”. A hotel-like accommodation (usually around a forest/jungle) that is raised off the ground. Guests who have stayed in a jungalow say it is like staying in a tree house.
A jungalow is comparable to a bungalow or hut.

    Jungalow......hummm......well I don't sell cactus or tropical plants...but I have some.
I have the chair on the right...in brown corduroy ....the basket that the cactus is in & the one's over the fireplace, and the throw pillows, and the ceramic flower pots...
now all I need is a stunning house like that to put it all in.
If this catches on......antiques will be in a further rough patch !! :sour:
