quirly, your glasses definitely look English and nineteenth century. They may be illusion glasses.

I thought today was going to be a bust, heading home I decided to head south past my house on the main road to see if there were any unadvertised sales. I got about 3 miles down the road and found a really trashy sale with this right out front, an early Stickley v-back rocking chair, needs a leather seat cover but for $20. I wasn't going to leave it.

I have that thing's twin brother in my living room; it's part of my grandparents' living room set. Today was going to be a bit of a bust, until I got home. I picked up a wedding vase, Acoma pottery. Looked at the bottom when I bought it but didn't tip it over. When I did that at home, I got a lapful of birdseed hulls. (ick) Danged chipmunks! OTOH I found the mark on line; the gentleman was a listed artist. Suddenly the day wasn't so bad after all.

Score on that Stickley rocker. Not worth what they once were but still desirable.

Get some new upholstery on that baby and use it! (the chair that is, not the cat) The rockers may not be in style, but they're often very comfortable.

SIL's business is refinishing old sinks and tubs.
I always keep an eye out for old cast iron sinks, which he uses for displays. Look what I found yesterday...a salesman's sample.

I was going through my picture library doing a little cleanup and discovered a few things I've found in the past few months that I meant to post but hadn't. So here goes.

This roughly 9.5 inch free-form bowl is from Tamac Pottery of Perry, Oklahoma. It's in the colorway they called Avocado and you'll see why. $4 from a dealer's inventory reduction.

Next up is a Roseville Fuschia candlestick. Seller only had 1 - darn - but at $5 there was no way I could leave it there.

This little Dutch shoe (3.5 inches) with handpainted scene was at an estate sale in early summer. Another one of those things that you just have to buy when it's only 1 dollar. It had a handwritten note taped underneath saying it was brought back from Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1928.

Finally, a pair of 5 inch tall Jennings Brothers (I think) copper plated candlesticks, unfortunately with damage to the plating around the top on 1 of them. The Arts and Crafts look won me over for $10.

Here are some of mine - another British flag, this one is large, just under 9', Russian War Relief Pin, tobacco tin, small bronze camel, a couple of Grandma Moses prints,
Czech Rhinestone purse, Eaton's travel rug with the case, a couple of creepy clown Christmas lights and my best buy is the Mazda Christmas Lamps in the original box, 1914.
