It's a steam engine of whatever sort; my dad liked the old steam tractors too. Any old coal-fired or wood-fired conveyance in a storm. Or shed.

I've seen the steam tractors up close before; they're nearly the size of switchers. Huge things.

Quite pleased we got this, one large smoothed chip and several small nibbles, but no cracks and all usable. Not used to seeing epergnes with all the pieces present!

IMG_0525.JPG I thought y'all might enjoy a few of my recent finds....and let's see if I'm smart enough of a newbie to get the pics here lol...

The favourite for me on this trip was this bible box dated 1610

The bowls are slipware with a green base on some and mocha on others (I think there are nine). My husband is from there in the distant relative past lol so I couldn't resist.

That box.....it's huge! The paws are the size of my hand. That said I don't have dimensions exactly as it was sitting about eight feet up on a pile of antiques. I actually wasn't going to buy it because the price point was high but after a week of killing myself for not buying it I had them add it to the shipment just in the nick of time. I can't wait to get my hands on it lol

I will see it likely may 9 th or so.

I also bought a smaller, simpler and older one as well. I'm going to become the American bible box queen heh heh. Oh and sailors trunks....I fell in love with them!

I restored and sold a pair of those sconces. I think I got over $400 for them. Slip shade fixtures never seem to lose value. I've seen similar pieces bring much more than I sold mine for.

Whoa. Those are pretty sweet. That Bible box is a monster; then again Family Bibles are often pretty darned big.

It may be seal. I recently bought a lot of fur pieces and one looked just like your hat. It had a stamp on the back id'ing it as seal.

The boxes have far more value than the bibles. That's a nice one. Did you need an export licence?
